Se i blog sono stati la killer application del web 2.0 del 2005, il 2006 è senza dubbio l’anno del videosharing e dell’IPTV.

Rispetto a quest’ultimo ho trovato un ottimo servizio per vedere la TV online e per ascoltare un gran numero di stazioni radio via web distribuite tramite una serie di applicazioni P2P (da SOPcast a PPstream).

Il sito in questione è Medinalia.com, il cui modello di servizio è molto simile a Coolstreaming, con la differenza che non è necessario un player specifico ma basta semplicemente un browser (io l’ho usato con Firefox).

L’offerta di canali TV/radio da vedere/ascoltare in RealPlayer e WindowsMediaPlayer è piuttosto impressionante:

Ovviamente la traduzione è molto simile a Babelfish (ovvero: eccessivamente letterale), ma con un po’ di buonsenso si capisce bene che tipo di servizi vengono offerti da Medinalia.
Comunque consiglio la lettura nella versione UK per evitare la fatica di “tradurre” da italiano-automatico a italiano-scritto.
A proposito di lingue e paesi: il servizio è sviluppato dalla Dimension Group, un piccolo gruppo spagnolo che offre servizi gratuiti per webmaster.

Programmi e stazioni radio sono organizzati in senso geografico per facilitare la ricerca dei canali nella lingua che si preferisce.
Comunque se si avessero difficoltà nel trovare il canale TV o la stazione radio a cui si è affezionati – fermo restando la disponibilità dello streaming – si può sempre usare il motore di ricerca interno al sito.

Una volta trovata la risorsa, la si può aggiungere ai propri preferiti archiviati dentro il sito stesso, senza login o quant’altro.
Credo che la memorizzazione avvenga tramite cookies, ma posso sbagliare.
