DI COSA SI PARLA?
Nella prima parte dell’intervento si traccerà una breve storia dell’uso degli effetti speciali nel cinema illustrandolo con esempi e sequenze di particolare interesse per la evoluzione di questa tecnologia visiva.
Nella seconda parte, utilizzando il software libero Blender, un set up green-screen e alcuni scenari CG predisposti in anticipo si guideranno i partecipanti a produrre alcuni esempi di integrazione di VFX prodotti in Computer grafica dentro un filmato reale e viceversa.
Se volete provare a realizzare il vostro effetto speciale dovrete avere:
1. Un computer
2. Scaricare il software Blender dal sito www.blender.org

DI COSA SI PARLA?
Fin dall’inizio della sua storia il videogioco si è rapportato col cinema. Ma, di là dalle somiglianze evidenti, bisogna considerare la loro profonda diversità, legata in primo luogo all’aspetto per così dire ‘sportivo’ presente nei videogiochi. Anche quando al giocatore è proposta una narrazione, è sempre al giocatore stesso che spetta di farla andare avanti. I teorici più estremisti sostengono che la narrazione in fondo sia solo un intralcio e che la struttura intrinseca del videogioco vada cercata nel cosiddetto gameplay.
Va notata inoltre la necessità di collegare il punto di vista adottato nei giochi a quello del sistema giocatore/personaggio. La discontinuità delle inquadrature e lo spostamento del punto di vista tipici del linguaggio cinematografico corrente sono sostanzialmente esclusi, nel videogioco, salvo riapparire nelle scene esplicitamente narrative (cut scene) durante cui però il giocatore torna a essere spettatore.
Un altro aspetto da considerare è il tentativo di legare cinema e videogioco sia utilizzando i materiali narrativi (film ispirati ai videogiochi, come Tomb raider o il recente Warcraft. L’inizio; videogiochi ispirati a film, come quelli tratti da Il signore degli anelli, ecc.), sia con intento cosiddetto transmediale, cioè disseminando la narrazione su vari media (l’esempio più significativo è The Matrix).
Infine (ma nel workshop a questo aspetto si accennerà soltanto) va sottolineata la presenza di una sorta di “estetica da videogioco” che affiora sempre più frequentemente nella produzione cinematografica commerciale, in particolare nei film dedicati ai supereroi.
Nel workshop ci citeranno vari esempi, dai videogiochi Final Fantasy VII e Beyond: Two Souls ai film Tron, Avatar, eXistenZ.
