Il XLII Super Bowl anno domini 2008, ha visto trionfare la squadra dei New York Giants che si è imposta sui New England Patriots con il punteggio di 17-14.
La città di New York – come si può ben immaginare – è letteralmente impazzita e i cortei dei tifosi in festa stanno colorando le strade della Big Apple.
Ma non è della partita del Super Bowl che voglio parlare: già ho dei problemi con il calcio, figurati con football americano 🙂
Preferisco parlare dei break pubblicitari che infarciscono questa kermesse mediatico-sportiva made in USA.
La pubblicità, per due ordini di motivi:
1. I break del Superbowl sono i più costosi della programmazione televisiva americana
2. Le campagne lanciate durante questo evento rappresentano esse stesse un piccolo evento mediale.
Tra l’altro quest’anno sembra che la fantasia dei pubblicitari si sia sbizzarrita, soprattutto per quanto riguarda l’ironia profusa negli script e le parodie dell’immaginario cinematografico.
Qui trovate una carrellata di alcune di quelle che secondo me sono le più riuscite campagne pubblicitarie che che nelle prossime settimane la clip generation di Youtube comincerà a imitare, copiare, adattare, praticamente viralizzare.
Se invece – come me – siete appassionati di infografica, credo che apprezzerete lo sforzo fatto dal New York Times per raccontare gli ultimi vent’anni di pubblicità andate in onda durante i Super Bowl.

Ricordavo quel famoso spot di Ridley Scott, ma non sapevo che fosse stato
proiettato la prima volta durante il Super Bowl. Emozionante. Questo spiega chiaramente il riferimento al “piccolo evento mediale”. Al tempo deve aver infatti avuto un impatto notevole.
Mi ha fatto pensare al video con cui Barack Obama è
riuscito a appassionare milioni di persone, il suo “Yes we can”. Un lavoro
sicuramente studiato a tavolino, ma davvero efficace.
Nel nostro paese invece siamo
riprecipitati nei cliché da campagna elettorale. Eppure mezzi come youtube sono oggi alla portata di tutti e, visto il
livello di scontento generale, potrebbero essere utilizzati per dare vita a movimenti alternativi. Come succede ad
esempio intorno al sito di Beppe Grillo che però, pur essendo uno dei blog più visti al mondo, non supera la sessantesima posizione nei cento siti più visti in Italia.
Mi chiedevo quindi se in questi anni di diffusione, i blog non siano stati un po’ sopravvalutati come mezzo di comunicazione. Non è più efficace un solo video come quelli citati, che un blog in cui, per molte ragioni, non è possibile attuare una vera e propria azione di riflessione o cambiamento? In fondo anche negli scenari ipotizzati dalla fantascienza, i metodi più efficaci sono quasi sempre le immagini.

per prima cosa grazie dei commenti sul blog.
Concordo con le tue riflessioni su campagne e immagini.
anch’io temo una campagna politica più che desueta che non riuscirà ad accendere nessun animo (meno che mai infiammarlo).
E’ vero, il video di Obama e il suo slogan sono frutto di una attenta progettazione comunicativa – non c’è dubbio – ma resto dell’idea che non c’è marketing politico che tenga se non ci sono idee che si vogliono rappresentare.
Ed è questo che manca alla nostra politica. Idee.
Non sono sicuro che i blog siano stati sopravvalutati, sicuramente lo sono stati da chi credeva che bastasse un sitarello fatto in casa per raccogliere consensi – più o meno – vasti.
Il blog è un posto dove dialogare, con il classico rischio che se non si sa su cosa dialogare, alla fine si parla del tempo e del traffico (e banalità relative).
Non è un caso che molti blog di informazione stiano diventando ritagli raccogliticci di notizie in rete.
Ma la mia è solo un’ipotesi.

Passavo di qui, e ho pensato di fermarmi per approfondire un aspetto della questione. Secondo te è possibile elaborare una formula per calcolare quanti utenti può avere al massimo un blog, affinché sia garantita la massima efficacia comunicativa?
Mi spiego.
Rispetto al blog, la chat ha il vantaggio della simultaneità degli scambi di messaggi, ma quando in una chat vengono scritti contemporaneamente 30 messaggi, diventa un’inservibile babele.
Al contrario nel blog è necessario il tempo di risposta che, nei casi di quelli più visitati, porta però ugualmente ad una dispersione, perché il post viene superato, e magari si finisce per comunicare solo con una persona, o perché dovendo già rispondere su due questioni si rischia di perdere di vista tutto il resto, oltre che di essere persi di vista. E così se il blog è “di successo” diventa difficile mantenerlo godibile.
Oltre alle tue riflessioni, mi chiedevo quindi se esiste uno studio esplicativo sulla questione.
