Io sono un appassionato di statistica poiché è una disciplina che ha una enorme relazione con l’organizzazione delle informazioni e una circostanziale relazione con la matematica.
Questo mio “approccio” mi porta ad apprezzare tutte le forme indirette della statistica: visualizzazioni, infografiche, rappresentazione dei dati e così via.
Inoltre cerco sempre modi diversi per imparare e insegnare la statistica mostrando come sia meno formale di quello che sembra.
Ma è la prima volta che mi capita di vedere concetti statistici rappresentati con la danza.
Lucy Irving (psicologa, PhD, Middlesex University) e Andy Field (psicologo, statistico, University of Sussex) sono autori del progetto Dancing Statistics, una serie di video in cui alcuni concetti chiave della statistica: correlazione, distribuzione di frequenza, varianza, sono spiegati con una serie di coreografie di danza contemporanea.
L’effetto è strepitoso poiché in quanto performance artistica, ti consente di vedere concetti statistici e poi magari applicarli ad una sequenza di numeri.
Il mio giudizio è che conoscere i concetti della statistica avendoli visti su un grafico e poi “ripassandoli” con la danza è molto efficace.
Ma lascio a voi giudicare l’effetto: per me è davvero bellissimo.
