Mi rendo conto che è quasi passato un mese dalla vicenda a cui sto facendo riferimento, ma non ho avuto tempo a mia disposizione per studiarmi il discorso in questione, e comunque non ho saputo resistere alla tentazione.
La storia è ben nota: dopo aver annunciato di aver accettato l’invito del rettore di partecipare all’inaugurazione dell’anno accademico dell’Università di Roma La Sapienza, Benedetto XVI ha preferito poi soprassedere a causa di una serie di contestazioni che gli sono state mosse da parte di un gruppo consistente di docenti dell’ateneo romano.
Ad ogni modo – nonostante non fosse presente – il suo discorso è stato letto dallo stesso rettore dell’Università, questo ha permesso alla Chiesa di Roma una contro-reazione mediatica piuttosto forte: il raduno dei credenti all’Angelus di domenica 20 gennaio a sostegno della libertà di parola del pontefice.
A questo punto la domanda: cosa avrebbe detto?
Il discorso è disponibile sul sito de la Sapienza – Università di Roma, assieme agli interventi degli altri personaggi pubblici invitati a presiedere alla cerimonia dedicata contro la pena di morte.
Se siete interessati, vi consiglio di leggerlo. Su Joseph Ratzinger si può dire quello che si vuole, ma comunque è un intellettuale di spessore. Controverso – si – ma di spessore.
Ad ogni modo effettuando l’analisi del testo scopriamo un po’ di cosette.
Cominciamo con l’analisi delle frequenze delle parole tramite tagcloud.
Abbiamo un totale di 3.301 parole che corrispondono a un vocabolario di 996 parole diverse.
Le parole singole più usate sono:

verità: 26 occorrenze
fede: 21 occorrenze

Mentre fra quelle doppie notiamo:

Fra le citazioni sia San Tommaso che Jurgen Habermas sono stati citati 2 volte, mentre John Rawls una volta così come Sant’Agostino.
Altre cose interessanti si scoprono se usiamo come analisi l’albero delle parole (word tree), che consente di vedere in che tipo di contesto le parole sono state usate.
La parola ragione – la più ricorrente – è stata usata assieme a termini come: r. etica, r. pubblica e r. creatrice.
Mentre la parola verità – subito dopo il lemma”ragione” – è stata usata in contesti molto più articolati e molto più diffusi.
Lascio a voi il divertimento di spulciare l’utilizzo del termine in questione.
Ovviamente dato che ho inserito le visualizzazioni in formato embedded (recente caratteristica del sito di datasharing ManyEyes), invito voi tutti a sbizzarrirvi nella ricerca di pattern nascosti.
Caro Davide, grazie della bellissima analisi (che peraltro non è vecchia né superata). Si presta, peraltro, a molte analisi pur con tutte le cautele che si devono sempre avere nei casi di analisi “para-quantitative” del discorso.

In realtà la “strumentalizzazione politica” di un momento di preghiera come l’Angelus è stata voluta da alcuni uomini politici e promossa dal Card. Camillo Ruini. Molte voci – in ambito cattolico, molti preti, scuore e laici impegnati – hanno apertamente criticato la scelta di trasformare un momento di preghiera in momento di rappresentazione di appartenenza “politica”. Una parte consistente delle Chiese cristiane – solidali col Papa ma anche con i valori della laicità (da non confondere col laicismo vecchia maniera) – hanno preferito la preghiera umile e silenziosa nelle proprie comunità. Da credente, mi piacerebbe molto che i politici evitassero strumentalizzazioni pericolose.
