Sono appena tornato a Roma da un interessantissimo convegno dal titolo “Le reti socievoli. Fare ricerca sul/nel web sociale” organizzato dalla sezione Processi e Istituzioni Culturali (PIC) dell’Associazione Italiana di Sociologia (AIS).
La location di Urbino – oltre alla bellezza del posto – è spiegabile in quanto nostri ospiti sono stati quelli del LaRiCA, ovvero il Laboratorio di Ricerca Comunicazione Avanzata di cui fanno parte personaggi del mondo accademico piuttosto attivi nella socialmedia-sfera italiana come Giovanni Boccia Artieri, Fabio Giglietto e Luca Rossi.
“Le reti socievoli” è un convegno classicamente accademico, anche se quando ci sono quelli del LaRiCA è difficile parlare di un convegno classico. Tanto per dirne una, durante le sessioni plenarie dietro le spalle dei relatori venivano proiettati (attraverso Visible Tweets) i tweet che venivano spediti in tempo reale e che commentavano in maniera più o meno seria le riflessioni dei relatori stessi creando un bel corto circuito fra pubblico in sala, relatori, persone che seguivano il convegno in diretta Twitter (con hashtag #retisocievoli). Inoltre il convegno è stata un’ottima occasione per presentare il libro curato da Lella Mazzoli dal titolo “Network Effect. Quando la rete diventa pop“, che raccoglie le linee di ricerca del gruppo del LaRiCA (fra quelli che non ho citato segnalo il curiosissimo saggio di Roberta Bartoletti sulle barbie modificate e fotografate dentro Flickr e Laura Gemini sulle forme di creatività diffusa nei social network).
Molto stimolante sono state anche le sessioni parallele in cui (accademicamente) giovani studiosi italiani presentavano le proprie ricerche. Il programma è stato ricchissimo (qui l’elenco completo degli interventi) e si spaziava dal fandom e cultura convergente, alla ricerca nei siti di social network, alla comunicazione pubblica e politica nel social web, alla formazione e lavoro cognitivo nel web sociale fino alla riflessione sociologica sul web sociale. In pratica il web 2.0/social media è stato un vero protagonista dell’evento.
Anch’io ho portato un intervento per la sezione Fandom e cultura convergente: ho provato a dare una spiegazione sociologica su come sia stata veicolata la notizia della morte di Michael Jackson nei social media il titolo “Morte di un’icona pop. Le reazioni online alla morte di Michael Jackson”. La ricerca prendeva spunto dall’analisi in stile social media monitoring che ho fatto lo scorso giugno, a caldo subito dopo la morte di Michael Jackson e che avevo già pubblicato qui su tecnoetica. Ma il convegno è stata un’occasione per provare a interpretare sociologicamente il fenomeno del boom di conversazioni su Twitter (ma non solo) che hanno invaso i media sociali alla circolazione della notizia della morte di Jacko.
In pratica nelle slide che vedete sopra i dati sono gli stessi di giugno, ma troverete qualche tentativo aggiuntivo di interpretazione analitica.
Compiuta la fase autopromozionale 🙂 c’è da dire che ci sono state ottime presentazioni di ricerche interessantissime che evito di citare per non fare torto a questo o quel collega. Diciamo che se esistesse un libro che raccogliesse gli atti del convegno, non perderei due secondi e me lo comprerei subito. Quello che è stato interessante infatti che in maniera più o meno – diciamo – autopoietica, sono emerse delle tematiche (teoriche, metodologiche ed empiriche) che attraversavano moltissimi (per non dire tutti, dato che non li ho potuti ascoltare tutti) paper presentati.
La sensazione che ho avuto è che nel mondo accademico italiano, non sempre pronto al cambiamento nei temi, c’è un gruppo di giovani e agguerriti studiosi, affascinati dai social media che ha voglia di confrontarsi e condividere le proprie riflessioni e perplessità, per cercare di dare uno sguardo nuovo ad una rete che è non è più luogo di geek, ma è – appunto – pop, patrimonio di tutti e aperta al contributo di tutti. Se poi a questo aggiungete che l’atmosfera del gruppo del LaRiCA è sufficentemente scanzonata pur essendo scientificamente impeccabile, capite bene l’entusiasmo con cui partecipo a questi eventi. Un grande complimento infatti va non solo all’organizzazione – impeccabile – alla scelta dei relatori delle plenarie – piuttosto azzeccata, direi – e alla struttura tutta della giornata, ma soprattutto al fatto di essere stati in grado di creare un’atmosfera piacevolissima di divertimento e di studio.
Come dovrebbe essere chi fa ricerca all’università 🙂
