Poco più di un mese fa, ho fatto un viaggio in California – Business Study Tour – a San Francisco e in Silicon Valley, assieme al gruppo dei Giovani Imprenditori di Confindustria del Mezzogiorno.

I viaggio è stato molto interessante: sotto la guida di Roberto Bonzio (Italianidifrontiera.it) siamo andati a conoscere la scena startup italo-californiana – Mind The Bridge – abbiamo visitato i classici colossi del settore – Google – ed io ho incrementato in maniera esponenziale il mio guardaroba di magliette geek.

Uno dei passaggi che mi ha visto maggiormente coinvolto, è stata la visita al Computer History Museum di Mountain View (si: dove sta Google).
Per la preparazione alla scrittura del mio libro “Le metafore del computer”, ho studiato diversi testi di storia dell’informatica, leggendo di macchine e tecnologie che sono al Computer History Museum ho potuto ammirare.

Per l’occasione ho fatto da cicerone per il museo raccontando una specie di storia sociale di quegli artefatti: la parte umana e relazionale invece che quella tecno-ingegneristica.
La cosa è stata talmente apprezzata che Roberto mi ha chiesto di scrivere un pezzo per StartupItalia dal titolo “Viaggio al centro della tecnologia”.
Dato che ieri 5 giugno ricorreva l’incontro di Ada Augusta Lovelace con Charles Babbage, mi è sembrato una buona occasione per riproporre il post scritto su StartupItalia.
