Ne avrete ormai sentito parlare in ogni dove nella blogosfera italiana ed io non intendo esimermi dal farlo, un po’ perché è un evento interessante, un po’ perché ne sono parte integrante 🙂
Sto parlando del RomeCamp, ovvero il barcamp che si terrà a Roma nelle giornate del 21 e 22 novembre (si: venerdì e sabato prossimi) e che ha come tema la società, le tecnologie e l’ambiente (e perché no l’innovazione, fil rouge che lega i tre ambiti di cui sopra). Ospite sarà la facoltà di Economia “Federico Caffè” dell’Università di Roma Tre, il che consentirà un mix tra blogger, studenti, docenti, curiosi, ….. Non è un caso che in parallelo si tiene il GreenCamp “la prima fiera sull’ambiente in una facoltà di economia in Italia”
Non saprei cosa dire di più di quanto non si sia già detto nel tam tam dei blog italiani (e il wiki della manifestazione), posso provare a fare qualcosa di diverso provando ad elencare i 10 motivi per cui bisogna partecipare a questo evento:
I dieci motivi per cui partecipare al RomeCamp.
1. Gli argomenti sono interessanti
Potete essere degli ameboidi quanto vi pare, ma è difficile non trovare un intervento che non stuzzichi, se non l’interesse, almeno la vostra curiosità.
2. Le persone sono interessanti
A costo di sembrare retorico, posso dire che nel mondo dei blogger ho trovato le persone più interessanti che mi sia capitato di incontrare. Talmente interessanti che spesso molti di loro sono da me considerati – loro malgrado – degli amici.
Conoscere persone è un piacere. ma se non sono interessanti, che piacere è?
3. La situazione è interessante
“Cheppalle le conferenze…”. Concordo.
Le conferenze – tranne rarissime eccezioni – sono una palla. Perché hanno un copione trito, ritrito e prevedibilmente ammorbante: uno parla, due parla, tre parla, coffee break. Quattro parla, cinque parla, sei parla, pausa pranzo. Sette parla, otto parla, nove parla, tavola rotonda. Cordiali saluti e grazie per aver partecipato. Il barcamp invece è una wiki-conferenza: arrivi alla sede-vuoi fare un intervento-trovi il posto-intervieni per 20minuti-le persone ti fanno domande-poi c’è un altro-ti interessa: lo ascolti-non ti interessa-vai a sentire un altro nelle sessioni parallele-mentre scansi gente con computer fotocamere videocamere-torni a casa e sei stato beccato mentre ti stavi scaccolando e postato su Flickr.
E’ un casino (all’apparenza) ma è più divertente.
4. Si mangia pane e web 2.0
Sei un tipo casa e playstation? Oppure un tipo “ci si becca su Facebook”? Oppure un tipo “ricordati di aggiornare la versione 2.7 di WordPress così non possono rendere il tuo blog uno zombi per fare attacchi DOS al Pentagono? Non sei nessuno di questi? Bene, allora sei il tipico pubblico del barcamp.
Perché del web 2.0 ti possono interessare tre cose: le piattaforme, la gente, la gente con piattaforme.
Tutto qua.
5. Ti vengono idee
Devi fare la tesi e non sai su cosa? Vorresti fare il giornalista, ma nelle testate nazionali i cognomi dei giovani giornalisti ricordano inquietantemente firme prestigiose e tu hai deciso di farti una blogzine? Vuoi sapere come si fanno i soldi (veri) con internet senza essere un imprenditore ma imitando lo stile di Robin Good (cappelletto escluso)? Hai capito che Ad sense c’ha un senso? Bene: il barcamp è per te!
6. Impari
Ma quando ti ricapita. Hai scoperto ieri Facebook e stamattina Twitter e non hai ancora visto altre 1000 piattaforme e sei rimasto stupito dal fatto che c’era uno che con una videocamera collegata ad un Mac andava in streaming in diretta in tutto il mondo. Gratis.
7. Rimorchi. Se vuoi
Lettore maschio concludi la sequenza logica: Le donne techno-nerd sono brutte, un po’ meno le techno-geek. Le blogger sono donne che se ne fregano della tecnologia ed usano il blog per comunicare, spesso con un certo stile. Perciò…..

8. Si tiene a Roma.
Diciamocelo pure. Riva del Garda è un po’ distante dalla Salerno-ReggioCalabria, mentre a Matera non c’arrivano i voli aerei. Roma è – logisticamente – l’ombelico d’Italia. Impieghi un range di tempo che si colloca fra le 2-4 ore, e per di più la facoltà di Economia di Roma 3 sta a metà strada fra due fermate della Metro B (tra Basilica San Paolo e Marconi)
9. Si tiene a Roma
Continuiamo a dircelo. All’ultimo barcamp nel profondo nord a causa della pioggia che scrosciava giù senza pietà ti stavano uscendo pinne e arti palmati manco avessi mangiato l’algabranchia di Harry Potter. Mentre al barcamp nel profondo sud persino le lucertole si staccavano la coda per sventolarsi in cerca di frescura. Nel profondo centro invece hai due possibilità o piove o c’è il sole.
