Ormai stanno aumentando sempre di più le applicazioni di GoogleMaps, veri e propri hack che sfruttano non solo le potenzialità tecniche dell’azienda di Mountain View, ma anche la capacità delle mappe di colpire l’immaginazione.
Abbiamo già parlato dell’inquietante Iraq War Casualties, che mostra la localizzazione delle vittime militari americane in Iraq, adesso è il turno di un’applicazione meno cruenta.
UFO Maps è un sito che permette di visualizzare sulla mappa degli USA generata da GoogleMaps gli avvistamenti UFO divisi per mese e anno.
Molto divertente e molto istruttivo oltre che affascinante, non solo per chi ci crede, ma anche come fenomeno sociologico.
Infatti, partendo da un sano scetticismo sulla plausibilità degli UFO, una domanda non può che colpirci: come diavolo è possibile che così tanta gente dice di aver visto dischi volanti?
Esistono diverse ricerche internazionali sul fenomeno UFO in una prospettiva socio-antropologica, e i risultati sono molto più interessanti di quanto si possa credere.
