Benvenuti nel mondo dei recut (o redux), ovvero quella forma di viral video che utilizzando il linguaggio dei trailer cinematografici stravolge il senso di alcuni dei film più famosi.
Vi è mai capitato di andare al cinema perchè incantati dal trailer, ma poi siete rimasti delusi dal film perchè non era quello che credevate?

Infatti non è un caso che spesso questi video sono prodotti dalle community di appassionati di cinema.
Molto spesso questi capolavori del montaggio alternativo, sono delle vere e proprie parodie. In questi ultimi mesi la parodia di maggior successo è stata quella di Brokeback Mountain – la storia dei cowboy gay di Ang Lee. Ne sono state fatte diverse versioni: Brokeback Hogwarts, Brokeback (Pulp) Fiction, Brokeback of the Ring, Brokeback Future, The Empire Brokeback (da ammirare il gioco di parole), Spongeback Mountain, Brokeback Island (parodia di Lost).
C’è inoltre chi sostiene – come Michael Geist – che la diffusione di fimati di pochi minuti (i clip) sta facendo nascere un nuovo tipo di subcultura online: la clip culture, appunto.
