Questo che state leggendo è un crosspost, ovvero un post che ho scritto sui miei due blog (l’altro è Sociologia dei Processi Culturali) per parlare del progetto Working Capital Italian Rainforest che riparte dalla città di Catania.

Cos’è Working Capital Italian Rainforest

Se siete persone che seguono innovazione e impresa, conoscerete bene il progetto Working Capital.

In caso contrario, posso dire che Working Capital è il progetto di Telecom Italia che dal 2009 funge da incubatore di imprese legate a servizi web e innovazione.
In pratica: cerca, aiuta, consiglia, sostiene, finanzia le startup sparse per l’Italia cercando di creare una vera e propria cultura dell’impresa digitale anche in Italia, anche grazie all’aiuto della società di venture capital DPixel.
Detto in soldoni: il progetto Working Capital coccola startup e startupper per farli crescere forti in grado di affrontare il mercato globale.

L’obiettivo di quest’anno è quello di accelerare l’innovazione provando a creare un ecosistema di soggetti (imprese, startup, eventi, persone-evangelist, ecc.) così da creare un tessuno ricettivo alla stregua di quello che esiste in Silicon Valley, capitale mondiale dell’innovazione hi-tech.

Per fare questo, il modello che è stato scelto è quello della Rainforest (foresta pluviale), un modello sviluppato da Greg Horowitt che serve per mettere a sistema le diverse energie – imprenditoriali, sociali, culturali – che servono per sviluppare la cultura dell’innovazione.

Sono già stati organizzati eventi per il lancio della nuova fase di Working Capital, ma l’inizio ufficiale è previsto per lunedì 25 giugno 2012.
Cosa succederà?

All’università di Catania, Facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia, Auditorium Aula magna Santo Mazzarino del Monastero dei Benedettini, lunedì 25 giugno 2012, dalle 15.00 alle 18.00 ci sarà l’evento Accelerare, Crescere, Innovare un Open Barcamp pensato per tutti coloro startupper o con voglia di startup che vogliono vedere progetti innovativi, conoscere meglio il nuovo mondo dell’innovazione e impresa e conoscere persone interessanti.

Obiettivo? Incontrare, discutere, confrontarsi e fare emergere i migliori talenti del territorio catanese. I protagonisti del domani della nuova imprenditoria siciliana. Vogliamo scoprire e sostenere i migliori progetti d’impresa digital. Fare squadra, creare team.

L’evento consiste in una serie di elevator pitch (un format che consiste nel raccontare in 5 minuti un’idea di impresa) intervallata da una serie di riflessioni su impresa, innovazione, cultura, tecnologia, il tutto coordinato da Salvo Mizzi, Gianluca Dettori e Marco De Rossi.
